William Tang is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at California Oral and Facial Surgery in Alameda, CA. He has gained much experience in helping patients from a diversity of backgrounds, including those from a low income society. He also enjoys coordinating and volunteering in outreach projects for those in deprived areas. His compassionate disposition contributes to the excellence of his patient care. He can perform a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures and is available to accept both new and existing patients.
Education
William completed his dental training in 2016 at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, AZ which is affiliated with A.T. Still University. There he became qualified to serve as a doctor of dental medicine. He then went on to complete his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of California, San Francisco, which is consistently ranked in the top 10 hospitals in the U.S. There he learned how to perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient surgeries including dentoalveolar, infections, trauma, pathology/reconstruction and TMJ. He also gained experience in emergency medicine, as well as trauma and plastic surgery. His training fully equips him to provide skilled surgical procedures for all his patients.
Dental Experience
Dr. Tang has a wide range of experience in the field of dentistry. He has performed general dentistry at dental practices in Arizona, Texas and California. His focus has been on serving those with low incomes as well as children and young adults. During his residency as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon he gained first hand experience in performing many surgical procedures that involved IV sedation, including tooth extraction.
Outreach Work
William has been involved in many outreach projects throughout his time as a dentist and during his training as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Many of the projects involved providing oral care and education for children and their parents. It’s clear that William has an appetite to impart knowledge to his patients helping them to care for their oral health. He has also helped in a cancer screening project, searching for cancers in both the head and neck.
Community Work
William has a good community spirit and has used some of his free time to help out with community projects. These have included packing food parcels for starving children around the world, fixing and donating recycled bikes for foster children and other community cleaning projects.
